As a part of growth strategy, popular bicycle subscription service from the Dutch land, Swapfiets has announced its expansion to one more country today — Denmark.
As per the announcement, the first bikes will be delivered in the cities of Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Odense in Denmark. Meanwhile, Swapfiets is already active in four German and three Belgian cities since early 2018, apart from the Netherlands.
Earlier a research by the European Cyclists Federation (ECF) claimed that Denmark is even a more bicycle-friendly country than the Netherlands. Hence, the company notes that the step to expansion to the northern neighbors was a logical one. Co-founder Steven Uitentuis adds, “Just like in the Netherlands, cycling is also the most popular means of transportation in the city in Denmark. People want to ride a bicycle, but do not waste time and effort on owning the bicycle. We want to ensure that everyone can cycle without thinking about it. By launching directly in Denmark in the three largest cities, we can help even more people and provide better service. ”
Swapfiets – 1600% growth in 2017

Swapfiets bikes – simply unique
Well, the bikes from the Dutch startups are quite unique and are designed by the Swapfiets team along with the bicycle brand Union & Cycletech and have a blue front wheel to make it stand out from others. Further, all the bikes also come with two locks and the keys are unique, meaning that one set of keys cannot unlock other Swapfiets bikes, so it feels as if it’s your own. Those interested, just need to sign-up online, choose the city where you want a Swap bike and make an appointment and get the bike. Cool! Isn’t it?
